This is a quick overview of some of the projects I’ve worked on over the last few years. As with anything like this, there are so many other products and projects in the same timeline that could be covered. I’ve focussed on some highlights I’m particularly proud of. It should go without saying that, while I contributed and lead these developments, these were team efforts. I’ve been very fortunate to work with excellent collaborators on these products.

Echo

CTO, Trellis Data | 2025 | AI Speech Integration platform.

Echo is a new voice product and platform for Trellis Data. This is a new product which leverages the existing AI capabilities of Trellis Data but presents in a user centric way. One of the key challenges, in developing Echo was integrating with APCO Project 25 radios.
Echo

We were one of the first companies to bring high-quality AI transcription to P25 systems; Echo integrated Sentiment Analysis and keyword alerting (therefore integration into EverBridge 360 Critical Event Management).

ScrambleFactor Reader

VP Engineering, Identiv | 2024 | Biometrics + touchscreen.

ScrambleFactor Reader

This was born to resolve several challenges:

  1. Update existing (and old) ScramblePad product line
  2. Bring biometrics to the Identiv (now Hirsch) reader product group

The “3FR” product is a halo product - the culmination of many years of research and development on the TS Reader platform. This reader leverages the best of the original readers, adds many improvements in a slick industrial design.

EG-2

VP Engineering, Identiv | 2023 | IoT Door Access Controller

The EG-2 was a missing piece of the then Freedom product line. This product launched as the Identiv EG-2 product line. Following the acquisition of Identiv’s physical access business, this product now carries the Hirsch branding and is part of the Primis product suite.

The EG-2 closed an important gap in the product; it allows for a much more modern deployment design than traditional physical access products.

Side Projects

Instrumap is a small side-project developed on my own time for music producers to leverage their sample libraries with Akai hardware. This has been well received by more than 430 users.
